6) VSM-B106 Understanding ATR & Worldviews: Acts - 3 Credits

Purpose of the Course
To aid the student in understanding their own world-view and that of others through the study and comparison of the world-views shown in ATR and the Book of Acts.

Course Objectives
The course will enable the student to:
1) Understand the definition and dynamic of world-views
2) Comprehend the world-views found in ATR and their resulting applications
3) Contrast and compare ATR with the world-view found in the West and in the Book of Acts
4) Learn to apply a Biblical world-view in terms of spiritual warfare and socio-economic issues.

Course Content
Learning to interpret the narrative literature found in Acts and utilize the inductive method of study. Understand the various Greek, Latin, Hebraic cultures and world-views in Acts and how they impacted the spread of the church through the Mediterranean region. Appreciate the cultural legacy of ATR while examining the spiritual dynamics introduced via the world-view. Empower the church to engage African culture and world-view with a sense of with a sense of gratefulness and with a better understanding of our Biblical world-view.
