14) VSM PM204 Church Planting - 3 Credits

Purpose of the Course
The purpose of the course is to communicate to the student the centrality of church planting as a missional tool, and to furnish strategies and principles for effective church planting.

Learning Outcomes
The course will enable the student to:
1. Examine the record of church planting in the New Testament
2. Study the history of church planting in Africa
3. Learn the processes by which churches are planted and developed
4. Develop unique, contextualized strategies for church planting

Course Content
Church planting is one of the most effective ways to share the gospel of Kingdom of God. Analysis for church planting will include providing a rationale for church planting, understanding a church planter’s profile, grooming a rising leader, identifying a target group, examining values and philosophy of ministry, building a team, developing a strategy, and financing a plan.
